The role of backbone peers in out reach work
Objective Taking the advantage of backbone peers to eliminate the worries of target population, developing the public education on HIV and promote condom use.Methods The site effectiveness evaluation and questionnaire survey.Results Between backbone peers and objective target population,the face-to-face education on HIV is conducted,involved with discussing benefits of using condoms,getting the HIV prevention knowledge and skills to persuade clients to use condom and changing unsafe sex behaviors.As the result of it, the rate of condom using reaches 48.7%in commercial sex business.Conclusion The involvement of backbone peers in the out reach work is very effective because of the good communication and snow-ball effect.
