The application value of 16-slices Spiral CT in the diagnosis of urological system disease

Objective To detect the diagnostic value of 16-slices Spiral CT in the diseases of urological system. Methods 115 cases with urological system disease were performed CT scanning by 16-slices Spiral CT. There are 60 cases were performed only for 16-slices plain spiral scan and 51 cases for 4-phases scan (palin scan, cortex phase, parenchymal phase and pelvis phase). Within the 51cases, 30 were performed by Sure-Start software and the other 21 cases were performed conventional enhancement scan. Non-enhancement urography is 4 cases. Within the 115 cases, there were 17 cases of congenital malformation, 2 cases of walnut cramp sign, 10 cases of urologic tuberculosis, 3 cases of polycystic kidney, 10 cases of pure kidney cysts, 58 cases of urologic stone and 15 cases of urologic tumor. All the dates were sent to the workstation for 3D post processing and the whole urogram, including therenal calices, renal pelvis, nephric duct and bladder were acquired. Results The 16-slices Spiral CT can display the anatomic structure of the urological system and the renal function, as well as the spatial relation between the pathological changes and the urinary passage. Conclusion 16-slices Spiral CT can display the location of the urological system diseases and diagnose their characters and evaluate the degree of the urinary obstruction and renal function. It can also provide the whole urogram. Therefore, it can supply more detailed and accurate evidence for the clinic.
