Strengthen the Emergency Management in the Earthquake Disaster and Improve the Relief Efficiency in the Epidemic Prevention
The article reviews the emergency support and epidemic prevention during the earthquake which hit Wenchuan on 12 May, 2008. It explains the experience of how the anti-epidemic resources of different sectors of the community were organized to unfold the post-quake emergency work of disaster relief and diseases prevention under the condition that institutions were at a standstill, personnel suffered heavy casualties, infrastructures were broken down, houses, roads and bridges damaged, ecological environment bad and the health and disease control system basically in chaos during early days after the quake. It is hoped that the experience could be served as a inspiration and help in the present and future endeavors of realizing the goal of "no big epidemic following big disaster" in the course of fighting the quake and preventing diseases.
