The Satisfaction Survey, Problems and Countermoves for Health Emergency Response Security in the Earthquake Disaster

Jiangsu health emergency response security work for quake relief in Sichuan Province was carried out by Jiangsu Province Centers of Disease Control and Prevention according to the deployment of the Ministry of Health and Jiangsu Province Department of Health. A total 18 health and epidemic prevention teams consisted of 201 professional health workers were organized to help the counterparts in Sichuan in their quake relief efforts. They were equipped with office appliance, necessities of life, medicines and instruments needed for surveillance and disease prevention which ensured the smooth performance of quake relief and disease prevention there. The survey of and interviews with local people in the quake-hit areas showed high satisfaction with the emergency response security work carried out by our teams. It is suggested that regular administration of emergency response security should be strengthened, the capabilities of long distance aid as well as management of emergency response with modern means should be upgraded.
