The research of surgical department outpatients in a class three and grade A hospital

Objective To explore the number of outpatients in different specialties and different professional ranks of the doctors in each hour and the distribution of outpatients in different specialties of surgical department in every week. Methods The outpatient distribution in five sub-specialities surgical department of a Class three and Grade A hospital was studied by questionnaire. Results Out-patient distribution in the weeks showed a cycling change. The largest number of outpatients occurred on Mondays and the least numbers were on Saturdays and Sundays. Conclusion A reasonable medical service allocation was needed according to the outpatient weekly cycling distribution.
