The Sucvey of Knowledge and Attitude on AIDs of 1296 Prisoners in One Jail of Anhui Province

Objective To understand knowledge and attitude on AIDS of prisoners,find high risk factors for HIV spreading and provide evidence for prevention and control of AIDs.Methods 1 296 prisoners were investigated using the questionnaire.Result 92.5% of prisoners gave correct answers about HIV/AIDS transmission route.82.3% prisoners thought that people living with AIDS had the same rights to get a job as health people.Only 57.8% persons knew the policy of AIDS prevention in china.The analysis showed that there was significant correlation between knowledge score and age,education,marriage,address,occupation(P0.05).The attitude score of AIDS were related with age,education and occupation(P0.05).Conclusions Awareness on AIDS of people in the jail was not enough.In order to prevent HIV transmission,health education and behavioral intervention should be enhanced.
