The characteristics of dual-referral model in other countries
The dual-referral model is that referring patients between the health facilities at higher and lower levels, or between the special hospitals and general hospitals depending on the illness and health demands. General practitioners are the key control part in the system. In the developing community health services, it is meaningful to get the experiences after comparing the difference of various dual referral models in other countries. Combining foreign experiences and our situation, perfecting the dual referral system will facilitate the improvement of medical insurance system regarding reducing the medial experiences and decreasing the pressure for outpatient clinics of big hospitals.
