The report and analysis on Global Fund AIDS Program Round 4 in Kaiyuan County
Objective: To reduce the HIV transmission among the drug users and female commercial sex workers, and to decrease the HIV transmission and influence among the vulnerable groups. Methods: Through 4 platforms, namely VCT centers, needle exchange centers, methadone maintenance clinic and women Health center, to develop intervention among the target populations. Results: From the project launch to Dec 2006, VCT centers provided 7718 times service for 5127 people, needle exchange centers provide 15328 times service for 2395 people, the needle exchange outreach services covered 284 people with 1294 times, and women health center offered 2153 times services for 635 women. From Sep 2006 to June 2007, the methadone maintenance clinic covered 168 people.
