Survey on the Awareness Rate of Hypertension Knowledge in Zhejiang Residents

[Objective] To investigate the awareness rate of hypertension knowledge and the influence factors in community residents for the disease intervention. [Methods] Totally 6 902 residents aged 35 and above from 5 communities were selected by multi-stage random cluster sampling and investigated with questionnaire. The influence factors were analyzed by unconditional logistic regression. [Results] The awareness rate of hypertension knowledge was 45.9%, and the rate in urban area was higher than rural, aged 65 and above was lower than other groups, and higher education levels was higher than others, carders was higher than other occupations. Logistic analysis showed that age, education level, occupation, medical insurance, history of hypertension and family history, and OR values were 0.99, 2.86, 0.57, 1.59, 2.97and 1.59 respectively. [Conclusion] There are lower awareness rate of hypertension knowledge,and it is necessary to carry out health education program for the community, especially for rural residents, the aged and the population of lower educational levels.
